Confidentiality:
All the information between the therapist and the client is confidential and is treated with the outmost discreetness. The therapist has the right to break the confidentiality rule if there is a direct threat to the safety of the client or to others. If such a case exists then it is the obligation of the therapist to notify the appropriate authorities.
INTERNET COUNSELLING
Confidentiality:
Internet counselling like the face-to-face psychotherapy rests on the same principals of confidentiality.
While exchanging information through emails is rather safe, there is always a risk that third parties will see your messages. Other people, like your family members, may have access to your computer files; viruses may increase the risk of exposure. Please take the necessary precautions to ensure the privacy of your emails.
Age:
You must be over 18 years old to undertake Internet counseling.
Representation:
You must represent yourself accurately.
Your Mental Health Condition :
You may not take part in Internet counselling if you suffer from a severe mental illness such as: schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, an eating disorder, personality disorder, major depression, or if you have suicidal thoughts. If you do suffer from such mental disorder or are experiencing such feelings/thoughts, you are advised to conduct face-to-face therapy. If you do not live in Prague, Czech Republic, I strongly encourage you to go to a local psychotherapist and/or a GP in your area. Please reach out for the phone and call your local psychologist or doctor.
No Friends/Family :
You may not participate in services offered this website if you know the counsellor as a friend or a family member.
Responsibility over your actions:
As with face-to-face therapy, you are responsible for your own actions. Any actions you undertake that you feel are results of the Internet counselling, remain your sole responsibility.
